HAN DONG
韩冬以自然风貌为其雕塑赋形。状若巨型玉石的青铜雕塑以手作木雕为始，经翻模放大后创造出人的身体得以停留的负空间，在功能型家居设计与艺术性造像之间，呈现人、物、自然的和谐状态。 艺术家通过对原始技艺的研习和对新的技术工具的使用，再现史前器物朴拙质感的同时，令雕塑焕发出超脱于时间之外的生命力，引导万物重新作为人的尺度，用历史的眼光表现未来降临前的恒常状态。
他的作品曾于上海西岸艺术博览会（2020）、北京今日美术馆（2019）、印度年度作品展（2018）、美国纽约视觉艺术学院国际设计展（2014）、美国纽约艺术博览会（2013）等多地展出，其雕塑作品《回归》获2019年意大利国际设计奖金奖及2017年丁酉“心之魂”手工艺术匠心奖,"重生"入围第六届2023LOEWE 基金会工艺奖。
Han Dong bestows his sculptures with natural forms. A bronze sculpture resembling a giant piece of jade has its beginnings in hand-carved wood, which is cast to create a negative space in which the human body can come to rest, finding a state of harmony between man, object and nature somewhere between functional furniture and art. Researching primitive art techniques and employing new technologies and tools, the artist revives the crude texture of prehistoric artefacts while imbuing sculpture with a vitality that shines outside of time, leading us to once again take measure of ourselves according nature, and to look upon the timeless state that precedes the arrival of the future through the lens of art history.
His works have been exhibited at West Bund Art Fair in Shanghai (2020), Today Art Museum in Beijing (2019), Annual Exhibition of Indian Works (2018), International Design Exhibition of the School of Visual Arts in New York (2014), and Art Fair in New York (201) 3) Exhibited in many places, and his sculpture "Return" won the gold Award of Italy International Design Award in 2019 and the handicraft art originality Award of Dingyou "Soul of Heart" in 2017."Rebirth" select for the 6th 2023 LOEWE FOUNDATION CRAFT PRIZE.
