The word “nature” evokes notions of unadulterated scenery, or tranquil distant lands, but when people leave the city for regions untouched by civilization, they find that real nature is full of chaos and disorder.

These nine artists each choose their own methods, engaging in artificial interventions in nature, or simulating visions of nature in human-made objects, pondering the connections between human action and natural creation as they bring order from disorder, changing the way we conceive of order and inspiring curiosity towards chaos.
